International Affairs Commissioner’s Report

Good Evening,

This past week I have been doing some research on Tuberculosis testing at Ohio University.  I have been researching policies towards domestic and international students regarding this type of testing and the general background information on Tuberculosis and the several different testing procedures.  This past week at the I.S.U. retreat I was approached by a certain individual who had some trouble with TB testing when he entered Ohio University.  It resulted in severe health matters with him due to certain medicines.  This issue is of course an isolated issue, so as of right now I’m just investigating to check common Tuberculosis testing procedures versus Ohio University testing procedures.  I’m in the process as of right now trying to set up meeting times with certain individuals at the College of Osteopathic Medicine to pursue further information, as well as meetings with the T.B. testing personnel at Hudson Health Center.

On Monday we had, our G.B. meeting for I.S.U. and it was another great turnout.  The several different representatives from the I.S.U groups presented their menus and dishes that they would be presenting at the International Dinner in October and they all looked like great dishes.  The G.B. as well as I.S.U have found a replacement for their programming chair, and her name is Pooja Majmudar.  She will prove to be a great addition to the I.S.U executive committee.

I’m still waiting to hear in regards to the Worker’s Right Consortium as well as the issue with Baker Catering.  As soon as I hear results, I will let everyone know.

Have a great rest of the week.
