Commissioner’s Report – Women’s Affairs
January 24, 2007

This week our commission was very busy working toward this Friday’s Planning Meeting for Take Back the Night, which will bring members from the campus and community together to get input on the event.  That meeting is at 4:30 this Friday in Baker 237.  I’m also meeting with Merideth Macintosh tomorrow to work on some PR work for TBTN.

I also continued my regular meetings with the interim director of the Women’s Center to discuss future programming for the center as well as finalizing things for their opening on February 10.

Commissioners Roder and myself are contributing to the Sexual Health Seminar Committee, and it looks as though our discussion is beginning to focus not only on the seminars themselves, but on women’s health initiatives campus wide – so we look forward to resolving and working on some of those issues.

My interns are working diligently to contribute to The Vagina Monologues, which Senator Schuette is planning.

Kristen Delo of GSS is coordinating an HPV awareness program with Char Kopchik at Hudson which we may coordinate with the assistance of POWER.

Commissioners Wemer, Senator Cataline, myself and many others have been working on the semesters vs. quarters committee, and are very excited about the resolution that will be up in a few minutes.

The Lighting Walk is going to be rescheduled for this Sunday, January 28 at 9:00 p.m.  Again, we will meet at the Senate Office around 8:45 where I will give you your assigned location, and please sign up again if you are able to attend.  We thought this time might work better for some of you.

Finally, CDAC is looking forward to attending the Town Hall Meeting on Friday and addressing some of our concerns.

Have a great week! End of report!
