Lee Robbins Women’s Affairs Commissioner Report February 7, 2007
Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great Senate Awareness Week.
-We had another TBTN planning meeting today, which went really well. We finalized events at this meeting and are now going to be working toward making them a reality.
-This week the commission has been finalizing plans for the opening of the women’s center which will be occurring on Saturday. You are all welcome to join the festivities, which will include food, entertainment, etc. from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
-I am assisting commissioner Wemer with the Gender and Sexuality RLC and will be working with Judith Grant and the department of Women’s Studies on their inclusion in this project.
-I’ve received most of your information from the lighting walk, though I think there is still one or two groups who have not turned it in, please get that to me ASAP as I would like to compile our results within the next week.
-The sexual health seminar committee meets again this Friday, I am anxious for this group to set some goals and would like to commend GSS Commissioner Brittany Buxton for her resolution passed this week supporting changes to Hudson’s website.
-I received some great information from Morgan about HPV awareness from the Women’s Caucus of the College Democrats of America and will be incorporating this into our campaign, more on this soon.
Enjoy the week!
