International Affairs Commissioner’s Report

Good evening,

This week has been a busy one.  I met with the International Student Union this past Monday, and they held the I.S.U elections for next year’s executive committee.  The new individuals that were voted in, I believe, will do a great job next year.  I look forward to working with these new individuals more as we plan for the upcoming International Street Fair that is in May.

On Monday, I met with Dr. Kent Smith and we discussed the code of conduct and the affiliation letter that will have to be finished in order for Ohio University to join the Workers’ Rights Consortium this quarter.  I was able to provide an example code of conduct and affiliation letter to Dr. Smith.  I will keep everyone posted as Ohio University gets closer to becoming involved with the W.R.C.

Also, I’ve been working on producing questions and plans for possible U.C. classes designed for undergraduate and graduate international students.  I look forward to meeting with Mr. Descutner, Dean of University College, in the coming week(s) to discuss these proposals.
